![]() Google Wallet might be coming back to your phone2022-04-18 18:02 by DanielaTags: Google Wallet, phone
More than a decade ago, Google launched Google Wallet which allowed users to conduct peer-to-peer transactions, similar to other services like PayPal and Venmo. The company later unified Wallet with Google Pay, but now it looks like they are getting ready to bring it back. That change has yet to materialize, but a new "Wallet" icon seen by 9to5Google could be the start of Google Pay's future. This new wallet logo that has been spotted corroborates a recent Bloomberg report that suggests Google is looking to transform Google Pay into a "comprehensive digital wallet" that allows you to manage digital tickets, airline passes, and vaccine passports, as well as all your usual banking gubbins, all from one app. The icon in question is internally referred to as "Wallet" and makes use of the four Google colors. You have the actual wallet in blue at the bottom, while a cutout allows for easy removal of the red, yellow, and green cards. According to the settings menu, Wallet can automatically pull passes and tickets from your Gmail account, another feature currently supported by Google Pay. You can also enable purchase reviews to keep an eye on your transactions. We expect that more features of this change to Google Pay/Wallet will be announced at I/O 2022 which will be taking place next month, so check back with us then for more details. Read more -here-
