One of the biggest items Google announced today at CES 2022 involves Fast Pair, the quick-connect technology that Google pushed out to phones and headphones a couple of years ago. In the coming weeks and months, Fast Pair will work on more devices and throughout more operating systems.

Google is working with the likes of Intel, Acer and HP to make easier connecting your phone to your Windows PC through Fast Pair, share files between Android devices and Windows PCs with Nearby Share, set up Bluetooth accessories and sync text messages between the two computing ecosystems.

For Google TV and Android TV devices, you'll be able to Fast Pair headphones "in the coming months." For Matter-enabled smart home devices, Fast Pair will work to add them to your Google Home units "in the coming weeks." With your Chromebook, Fast Pair for headphones will also happen "in the coming weeks." And finally, setting up a Chromebook should happen even faster by using a paired Android phone.

Google will also enable smartwatches running Wear OS 3 to unlock paired Android phones or Chromebooks, much in the same way an Apple Watch can unlock an iPhone. That feature will arrive "in the coming months," and hopefully, there will be more Wear OS 3 watches available when it launches. Right now, the only major smartwatch running the new OS is Samsung's Galaxy Watch 4.
