Sony's big PlayStation 5 games reveal event, titled The Future of Gaming, took place today after a week-long delay. The event was very much inline with a standard E3 presentation — albeit devoid of the standard live element, due to COVID-19-related restrictions.

During the event, videogame maker Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto V is coming to PlayStation 5 next year. GTA 5 was originally released on the PlayStation 3, according to Gamespot, before coming to PlayStation 4; the franchise is one of the most successful video games ever. Immediate details about any new content or features were not immediately announced, but GTA 5 will be "expanded and enhanced" on PS5, Gamespot pointed out.

The company also announced a new game, called Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales that will launch alongside its new PS5 console in time for the holiday shopping season, Sony said. The game will focus on Morales, a mixed-race character at the center of the hit 2019 movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse.The console, shown at the very end of the event, has an almost Alienware-esque, space age design to it with a black center piece and a rounded white top and bottom.

The console was shown in a vertical position on a stand throughout the unveiling, leading us to believe that it needs to stay in that orientation, but Sony hasn't confirmed that yet. It's still unclear when the PlayStation 5 is coming out and what price it'll be.
