Samsung halts Galaxy Note 7 production after fires

According to recent reports, Samsung temporarily stopped production of its unfortunate Galaxy Note 7. One month ago the company announced that it will recall 2.5 million smartphones, which were under risk of catching fire. Consumers were allowed to trade in their phones for new ones, which were supposed to be safe.

However, it turned out that the new phones in which the problem was supposedly fixed, were still susceptible to catching fire. This could mean that the giant's initial assumption that fire in some of the original devices was caused by the batteries, was wrong.

Telecommunications companies in the United States and Australia said they would not offer the Galaxy Note 7 any more.

Galaxy Note 7 hit the market in mid-August as one of the best-reviewed Android phones ever made. It was expected to solidify Samsung's lead in the mobile market but quickly became an unprecedented nightmare for the company.
