Finnish teen convicted of over 50,000 computer hacks

A 17 year old Finnish teen Julius Kivimaki has been accused of 50,700 "computer break-ins" by the Finnish court. Despite the severity of the crimes, Kivimaki has not been jailed but only sentenced to a two-year suspended prison term and was also ordered to fight cyber crime.

Kivimaki is an alleged member of Lizard Squad and he was involved in hijacking emails, blocking traffic to websites and the theft of credit card details. Among the affected by his attacks were Harvard University and MIT.

The crimes were committed in 2012 and 2013 when the teen was 15 and 16, which added that he has been deprived of access to a computer as part of the punishment.
