Amped Wireless has announced its newest innovation and the next generation of Wi-Fi performance, the new RTA2600 Athena Router. This HighPower AC2600 Wi-Fi Router with MU-MIMO delivers wider Wi-Fi coverage coupled with next generation Wi-Fi technology in the form of MU-MIMO (Multi-User MIMO) and AC2600.

The Athena Router features four high gain, dual band antennas, eight Wi-Fi radios and 16 total high power amplifiers, the most advanced makeup of any Amped Wireless product. These components combined enable the RTA2600 to deliver more Wi-Fi range, more speed and overall better performance than any other router in the Amped line up. The amplifiers include four 2.4GHz amplifiers, four 5GHz, and eight advanced, low noise amplifiers.

Packed with multi-user MIMO technology, the Athena has the ability to stream high quality media at faster speeds to multiple devices at once, with ease. In contrast, standard Wi-Fi networks deliver data to one device at a time. MU-MIMO is built for multi-tasking as it simultaneously serves more bandwidth to all devices on the network. The Athena is designed for peak performance on what other routers would consider to be a crowded network. That means up to 3x faster Wi-Fi to every smartphone, tablet and TV in your home - and all at once.

The AC2600 Router is equipped with two USB ports, including a USB 3.0 port, for file sharing and five gigabit wired ports for attaching additional wired devices. The Athena includes an updated user interface, premium software features such as guest networks, adjustable Wi-Fi coverage controls, parental security and support for IPv6 Internet connections.

The Athena HighPower AC2600 Wi-Fi Router with MU-MIMO will be available to customers mid-2015.
