Networking manufacturer Amped Wireless is among the first companies that have announced the products that they will unveil at CES 2015 in Las Vegas. The company will introduce two touch-screen AC Wi-Fi devices, along with four brand new range extenders.

TAP-R2 and TAP-EX2

The TAP-R2 is the first of its kind, a High Power Touch Screen AC750 Wi-Fi Router. Designed to deliver 3X the Wi-Fi coverage of other routers, coupled with a fast and simple setup process that requires nothing but a few taps of your finger to complete. With its high power components, the TAP-R2 can send a Wi-Fi signal to areas like upstairs rooms, out to the yard, or to the far office. With a total of six high power amplifiers and two high gain antennas (external and internal), the TAP-R2 delivers up to 800mW of Wi-Fi output power. It is expected to ship as early as of February. Its price will be $159.99.

The TAP-EX2 is a High Power Touch Screen AC750 Wi-Fi Range Extender. It also provides 800mW maximum transmit power, a total of six transmit power and receive amplifiers and one internal and one external dual-band antennas. A single USB 2.0 port allows for storage sharing with other devices. The device will be available at the begining of 2015.

REA20v2

RE1750A

The REA20v2 High Power AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender also provides output power of 800mW and features a technology for improved signal reliability and wider overall coverage. Other features include a five-port Gigabit switch and one USB 2.0 storage port for file sharing.

The RE1750A High Power AC1750 Wi-Fi Range Extender has almost the same features as the REA20v2, but it comes with three transmit / receive chains supporting maximum link rates of 450 Mbps in 2.4 GHz and 1300 Mbps in 5 GHz (1750Mbps in total).

REC22A and REC33A

The other two range extenders that Amped Wireless offers are wall-plugged. The REC22A High Power AC1200 Plug-In Wi-Fi Range Extender and REC33A High Power AC1750 Plug-In Wi-Fi Range Extender share the same design, but are 2x2 and 3x3 AC extenders as their names imply. Both of them have one external dual-band antenna and a single Gigabit Ethernet port.
