Amped Wireless, the leading manufacturer of high power, long-range wireless solutions for the home and office, today announced the availability of its REC15A High Power Compact 802.11ac Wi-Fi Range Extender. The discreet, wall-plug unit extends the signal of any standard 802.11a/b/g/n or ac Wi-Fi router by repeating, amplifying, and redistributing the signal in a new extended location, such as a far bedroom, backyard, or upstairs office. The REC15A packs up to 500 milliwatts (mW) of Wi-Fi output power into a compact, elegant design - to eliminate dead spots and attain more range. With four total amplifiers and a high gain, dual band antenna, the REC15A provides up to 5,000 sq. ft. of extended coverage. In addition, the REC15A features ultra-fast 802.11ac Wi-Fi technology and simultaneously repeats both 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz Wi-Fi signals. One additional wired port is built into the REC15A for connecting PCs, TVs, Blu-ray players, game consoles and any other network device. The REC15A is equipped with top security features including parental controls like restricted access for certain users, time of day schedules to limit the network's availability, and adjustable Wi-Fi coverage settings to reel in the signal strength.
