In a try to escape from the Swedish officials' plan to seize their current domain, The Pirate Bay has recently moved to a Greenland-based .gl domain. However, it turned out that Greenland's officials didn't like the move. Less than 48 hours after the switch, Greenland's government shut the Pirate Bay down.

Greenlandic telecom company Tele-Post, which oversees the .gl domains, said that the domains were being used for "illegal" purposes, though it didn't specify exactly laws were being broken. It's obviously related to copyright, the issue that the Pirate Bay's been struggling to find a way around for years now.

This is the second domain transfer for TBP in a year, as last year it transferred from .org domain to the Swedish .se domain. As of now, the users visiting TBP's .se domain are being automatically redirected to the new home. Aside from a bookmark update, everything remains the same.

Now, the future of TPB looks far from certain. Captains of the site claimed they had dozens of domain names in reserve, just in case their primary ones were pulled down again.
