Anti-Piracy Police Take Girl's Winnie The Pooh Laptop in House Raid2012-11-23 09:12 by DanielaTags: piracy
Finnish anti-piracy police raided the home of a nine-year-old girl accused of illegal file sharing and confiscated her Winnie The Pooh laptop. CIAPC, the company that had the Pirate Bay blocked in Finland, tracked an alleged file sharer and demanded a cash settlement from the owner of the house. The house owner- the father of the girl - received a letter from CIAPC, also known locally as TTVK, demanding €600 and a request to sign a non-disclosure agreement. However, the man refused to pay and this Tuesday, the Finnish police showed up at his door with a search warrant, and took his daughter's Winnie the Pooh laptop.
Ironically, the young girl hadn't even succeeded in her attempt to download a tune, and she and her father had actually purchased the tune the next day. Her failure to download the tune from The Pirate Bay means that CIAPC/TTVK was acting not on an actual copyright-infringing download, but instead on a mere attempt. Read more -here-
