Bluetooth module offers 1Km range

Bluetooth OEM module manufacturer Bluegiga Technologies reportedly introduced the first long range Bluetooth module Bluegiga WT41.

The device provides high quality radio performance and provides +20 dBm output power and according to Bluegiga, this is the maximum allowed in Americas, Europe and a range of Asian countries.

The new device offers a lot of convenience to the users as it promises to achieve 1000 meters distance in optimal conditions and several hundreds of meters in an urban or office environment.

This module is available with integrated chip antenna or U.FL antenna connector. The company claims that this module offers the industry-best Enhanced Data performance and range for data intensive applications.

Bluegiga WT41 can implement a RF power amplifier and a low noise amplifier to improve the module sensitivity down to -90 dBm. According to a release, the sensitivity improvement extends this new module’s range to Bluetooth class 2 devices such as mobile phones or PDAs.
