Dell offers experimental Chrome OS for Mini 10v netbooks2009-11-30 10:09 by DanielaTags: Chrome OS, Dell
Engineers at Dell have worked to release an experimental, but unstable version of Google's Chrome OS that runs on the firm's Mini 10v netbooks. Dell has been a long-term and particularly high-profile supporter of Windows alternatives - particularly on netbooks - having offered Ubuntu as a pre-install choice on selected models in its range. Its support for alternative operating systems hasn't just been limited to its netbooks though, as a number of the PC maker's other laptops have also had Ubuntu pre-install options. The attention now appears to be moving towards Google's Chrome OS, which was recently open sourced to its Chromium developer community. Dell's Doug Anson has released a USB key image file of his own Chrome OS installation which you can extract onto your own USB thumb drive, providing it's at least 8GB in size. Read more -here-
